Relander sends a letter to Paul F. Henderson, with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, after having been contacted by John Brooks, who said Henderson was interested in the welfare of the Wanapums. He updates him on what has been happening with the dam, as the Wanapums are concerned. They had been assured by the PUD that they would be protected, should a permit be issued, and those measures have been taken. Relander gives him examples that prove this. Relander passes on thanks from Puck Hyah Toot, for Henderson's interest. He ends by quoting a piece of Puck Hyah Toot's speech: "We once worried and were afraid. But as long as we know we have friends we have nothing to fear in the future."en_US
