dc.description.abstract"Since 1916 I have served as advisor and interpreter for all of the old councilmen. The wisdom of the old councilmen is never to be forgotten. They feared that some day the new generation would sell the very lands which the old warriors have gallantly died for in wars with the territorial volunteers. Chief Seven Mountains and Saluskin would come to my father's place and repeat the stories about the Treaty-making days. They became the legend, told during the winter. That is how we learned about the days that have gone, and how we also hand them down."en_US
