Abstract
"Yakima is proud of the museum as one of the cultural aspects of the city. It was built as the result of a community-wide fund campaign for matching money with a fund provided by the Alexander Miller estate. John J. Miller, patron, turned the first shovel of dirt at the ground breaking ceremonies June 21, 1956 and the structure was completed and dedicated June 15. L. J. Shadbolt was chairman of the building committee and Walter J. Purdin, president of the association."
