dc.description.abstract"1948-Geirge Davis of Sunnyside, said father, the late James Davis was one of the original African Dodgers. Expert at ducking. Pioneers pitched eggs at him. William Simons of Portland (48) who helped build Bickleton church, settled there in 1897 (church and school). Will Bickle of Granger, 75, named for father, Charles N. Bickle. Bickle family arrived in 1878, store, sold to cowboys and Indians, before wheat. Bickle came from Kansas. Operated a store at Goldendale first for a year. Bickle paid for mail from Goldendale to Bickleton first three years. Mail trip made once a week in 1900."en_US
