Abstract

"The investigation which followed Schulze's suicide in April, 1895, showed that he had made private use of the proceeds of these bond sales and it is asserted that part of them were lavished upon a famous actress whose name was mentioned along with his before and after his death. The result of these things was a combination of stockholders and general creditors to prevent the consummation of the bondholders' organization plan to force the company into insolvency and then assume control themselves."
