Abstract
"Saluskin contributed a section on tribal lore and present day problems. Even the treaty as ratified in 1859 after it was negotiated at the council grounds at Walla Walla by Gov. Isaac I. Stevens is reproduced in the 30,000 word book. There are over 45 illustrations including drawings of old treaty chiefs made at the council and rare old and modern photographs. Pen and ink work was contributed by Jimmie James of Portland."
