dc.description.abstract"New Georgia, named by Vancouver, in 1792, embraced all the country from British Columbia down to the Columbia river. In 1844 Oregon had been partitioned into three legislative districts, the present state of Washington being included wholly within the Clackamas district which extended to 54 degrees, 40 minutes north latitude. Immediately afterward Vancouver district was set apart embracing the region from the Columbia river north to 54 degrees, 40 minutes."en_US
