dc.description.abstract"We arrived in Old Town on the 24th of July, stayed there a few days, and then started for the Cowiche ranch. On the way we met a Mr. Bell and Mr. John Loudon who lived up on what is still called the 'Loudon Ranch' and they wanted us to settle up there. We camped that night at the Louie Lanch place. The next morning when Father saw the lay-out he said to my uncle, 'This is a devil of a place to bring a man with a family'. They and Louie Lanch visited the Loudon ranch but they did not think much of it."en_US
