Abstract
"In the fading years the remnants of what had once been many bundles of tule mats were taken from hillside cellar caches and used to cover long houses used for worship. There, Puck Hyah Toot, as Smowhala had done, recited the story of creation and the Wanapum belief in the Creator. Chants of the old-day dreamers, such as Smowhala had introduced, were sung seven times each day by the seven drummers as in the old days."
