Narrator: (Single spot light effect) This is an historic day. This is a sacred day. This is not a time for celebration but a day for remembering the old Treaty chiefs and the Yakimas yet unborn. It was one hundred 36 years ago this very day that the sacred Treaty between the Confederated Tribes of the Yakima Nation and the United States of America was signed in a cottonwood grove at Walla Walla. It is indeed a time to remember, June 9, 1855, that was when we relinquished our God-given rights to protect our old men and our women and to provide security for our children to come."en_US
