dc.description.abstract"The party of 18 Yakima reservation Indians, thought to have been lost in the mountains was brought into this city yesterday by Indian Agent L. T. Erwin who found them two days ago 60 miles from Chehalis near the headwaters of the Chehalis river. They had lost 19 horses and had lived on deer meat for over a month. When found they had worked their way out of the frozen mountains. In the party was a woman, Caroline Scow, who gave birth to a baby who seems as healthy as anybody born on terra firma."en_US
