dc.description.abstract"The site was first brought to our attention in the fall of 1949 by Mr. Thomas Stockdale of Vantage, Washington. Mr. Stockdale had visited the site a number of times and remarked that although he had traveled the river extensively and had observed a great number of petrographic sites, these were by far the best he had seen. On August 20, 1950, we visited the site by means of a canvas boat in the company of Mr. Stockdale."en_US
