dc.description.abstract"On my second trip to Nespelem, I stopped off for an afternoon at Priest Rapids. It was payday and all were preparing to go to town for groceries, etc. and then to go on down to wanawis to fish for salmon. At Nespelem, I worked with my old Palouse informant who dictated a long tape to me about a trip he made in 1918 with a Mr Redfield of the Indian Bureau. R's purpose was to persuade off-reservation Indians to come onto the reservations."en_US
