dc.description.abstract"Artifacts and implements found on the surface or by excavation in the area the Wanapums occupied along the Columbia River from Vantage on the North to Pasco on the south are of a type with which present Wanapums are familiar. These artifacts are described by Harlan I. Smith in Anthropological Papers of the American Museum of Natural History, Vol VI, Part 1, The Archaeology of the Yakima Valley (New York, 1910). Numerous of these relics are in the Janeck collection in Yakima and in the Clubb collection in the Yakima Valley Museum, Yakima City Hall. Smith concludes that there were many permanent residences along Priest Rapids and White Bluffs."en_US
