dc.description.abstract"About 3 o'clock p.m. the cry of Indians was heard and we saw three of them on horseback making for our horses yelling as usual on such occasions with all their might these witha number of others who passed along a hill a little further from camp managed to so frighten our horses that about 70 out of the 108 were run off in spite of all we could do there were several shots fired at them, one of which killed one of their horses but did not hit the Indians."en_US
