dc.description.abstract"My parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Crosno left Mt. Vernon Ill.in 1865. They crossed the plains with ox team and covered wagon by the way of the old Oregon Trail. They settled in Vancouver Wash. in Sept. 1865, Father filed on a homestead and built a log cabin. My brother Horatio and myself were born there. In June 1868 he sold his homestead right for $200 cash and a team of horses and wagon and with his yoke of oxen and wagon they loaded in all their earthly possessions and started for Yakima. Father had heard of this bunchgrass country where cattle could be easily raised."en_US
