"If by 'journal' you have in mind the private diary, this type of record is not often found among the records of the War Department in the National Archives which is the depository of official records of the War Department. There is on file, however, a diary for part of 1856 of Lt. Col. J. Withers but he is not on your list. If, however, you mean the official correspondence of the 17 officers which consists of letters and reports, then these can be found."
