Abstract
"The only thing now needed to make Gold Hill District a substantial and paying mining camp, they say, is the completion of the state road from Buckley to Enumclaw up over the summit and down the Yakima valley. At present all supplies must be packed over a trail from Buckley to Enumclaw and no machinery can be carried in that cannot be carried on a horse. The season opened late this year on account of the unusually deep snow and snow is beginning to fall in the higher altitudes."
