dc.description.abstract"We have discussed the matter with the state attorney general's office in conjunction with other problems associated with Indian fishing rights on the Yakima River and elsewhere. The question of Indian treaty fishing privileges and the status of non-treaty Indian fishing rights is exceedingly complex, and it has been our endeavor to carefully evaluate all Indian cases on a basis of existing law before committing this Department to any position on particular Indian fisheries, especially those not conducted within Indian reservations."en_US
