Abstract
"Selah Ridge sprawls eastward from the gap like a string of slain or reclining prehistoric animals. Its faun_colored sides bulge out on the south toward Yakima and the Terrace Heights community and toward Selah and East Selah on the north. Close along the north base passes Highway 97 and the Yakima River, both unhurried this time of the year. Basalt outcroppings jag out of the flanks, heaving up from the quartering deep gashes of weathering ravines."
