Abstract
"M. C. Reardon and Mrs. W. P. Paulham of Prosser, arrested some time ago on the charge of adultery, have been released. Judge Graves gave them their freedom by a decision on a low point, holding that adultery is not punishable as a crime in this state. He held that congress by the Edmunds-Tucker act annulled the law making adultery a crime in territories and since Washington took on the mantle of statehood, no law has been enacted by the legislators to fill this aching void."
