Abstract

"The company has a floating indebtedness of about $50,000 and a bonded indebtedness of about $100,000, all of the latter being held abroad. The cost of the plant canal and lands owned by the company is about equal to the present indebtedness. Thirty thousand dollars has been spent since construction was finished in maintenance. The present unfortunate condition of the company is due to the panic and subsequent depressed conditions which overtook the company immediately following the completion of the work making it impossible to carry out the plans for colonization contemplated, and curtailing the receipts on land sales and water rentals."
