Abstract

"F. H. Newell of the United States geological survey corps is engaged in ascertaining the quantity of water in the various streams of any consequence of this and Kittitas counties, with a view to obtaining a definite knowledge of the capacity for furnishing water, for irrigation purposes. Data of this nature will prove a great aid to the farmers of these counties and Mr. Newell has kindly proffered to furnish us with information from time to time for the benefit of those interested. At the bridge below the old town he found 2,960 second feet of water, fully enough he says to irrigate 300,000 acres of land."
