Abstract

"Lockwood will be remembered by the early settlers of this county. He was formerly engaged in the cattle business in the lower Yakima. He sold his band of cattle to Joseph Baxter, dissipated his money, held up a stage in southern Oregon, was tried, convicted and sentenced to eight years in the penitentiary for his crime; served six years of his sentence; was pardoned out by Gov. Pennoyer."
