Abstract
"...Secret secession organization in Virginia City, Storey County...for past 12 months there has been a very large and continuous emirgration of the most influential secessionists of California to the Territory, the majority locating at Reese River and more recently in the county of Nye...and notes compiled by myself and observed for the past two years there are not less than 2,400 Peace Democrats, 'Copperheads,' and openly avowed secessionists in Storey County, all of whom are engaged in one common cause."
