Abstract
"Not because I happened to be the person who wrote it, but because Ben rose to cattle king in our valley, I feel that the story merits pushing by all who have interest in the valley's growth and publicity. I don't have to tell you, of course, that people who spend years digging out material, writing, re-writing, polishing, proof-reading and all the effort and labor connected with getting a book published and marketed, is doing it for the financial return he hopes will come to him. If that was his sole reason, there'd be few books attempted."
