Abstract
"I was lucky enough to be able to see part of the roots feast on the Umatilla Reservation last April. It wasn't as big a success as it might have been, since the old timers objected to its being held inside the Agency Hall. Many of them did not show up at all for this reason. The younger group of Indians had gotten control and were the ones who wanted the feast held inside because of cold weather."
