Abstract

Talk by Anne Haley, entitled To Grow a Library Village, and the Coup in Russia. Haley had a 32-year career in public librarianship, including 20 directing the Walla Walla Public Library, before finishing her public library career at the Yakima Valley Regional Library, 1997-2002. She then worked as chairman of the board of directors for Brown & Haley candy company in Tacoma. She is now a print artist, and was appointed by Governor Christine Gregoire to the state Transportation Commission. Haley also served as chairwoman of the Washington State Library Commission, president of the Washington Library Association and president of the Northwest Library Association, as well as the ALA Representative for the State of Washington.
