Formerly it was called the Bedrock Springs country. Mr. Kinney was going down to the valley on occasion of the naming of the country aforementioned and having camped one night below Prosser awoke the next morning to find that his animals had strayed and the tracks led up the mountainside and over into the upland plain, beautiful to behold and there he found the runaway horses cropping the succulent bunchgrass with apparent good relish.
