Newell of the United States geological survey corps is engaged in ascertaining the quantity of water in the various streams of any consequence of this and Kittitas counties, with a view to obtaining a definite knowledge of the capacity for furnishing water, for irrigation purposes. Data of this nature will prove a great aid to the farmers of these counties and Mr. Newell has kindly proffered to furnish us with information from time to time for the benefit of those interested.
