He was killed on the 15th of December, 1890, by the Indian Police while resisting arrest, in front of his log cabin on the Grand River, North Dakota. I met and talked with the Indian (Red Tomahawk) who killed him. Red Tomahawk was at the Custer celebration last June on the Custer battlefield. I took his photo, but it did not come out very good.
