Abstract
"The aforesaid passenger was Nels Johnson, whose numerous friends and acquaintances will remember him as a former section hand on the railroad. He was on the gang that worked about Simcoe, and concluding that he would quit shoveling gravel for the railroad and shovel a little for himself he went to Dawson where he staked a claim that yielded him $30,000 in nuggets and $60,000 for a quiet claim deed and he passed through this city Thursday night on his way to his people in the east worth $90,000."
