Abstract

Mills Creek Pillar (Steins Pillar), Ochoco National Forest, Oregon. A basalt pillar gives evidence of a volcanic era. Photographed by Otto M. Jones in the 1910s. The physical photo is a nitrate negative that is decaying. In person, it appears a yellowish-orange, which scans as a negative to a blueish-purple hue.
