Abstract
"Ward's hotel, one of the landmarks of the town of Prosser, burned to the ground Saturday morning, the fire starting about 8 o'clock. The building was no longer in use as a hotel but had for some time been doing service as a tenement, there being six families housed in it at the time of its destruction. The fact that there was not a vacant house in town compelled the burned out families to resort to tents. The household goods were practically all saved, but the loss on the building amounts to about $2000, as there was no insurance."
