Abstract
"While I was at Fort Lewis, I took a great interest in the traditions and history of the Yakima Indian Nation. It was my privilege to provide an Honor Guard and to participate in the ceremonies for the inauguration of old Fort Simcoe as a historical site. On that occasion and at other times, I met many of the senior officers of the Yakima Tribal Council. I am glad you are enjoying cordial and fine relationships with the Yakima Tribe."
