Abstract
Final part of a talk by Donald Sager entitled Current State and Future of American Public Libraries. Sager was the Commissioner of the Chicago Public Library from 1978 to 1981, where he guided the first steps toward a fully automated circulation system. In addition to Chicago, he directed libraries in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Columbus, Ohio; and Kingston, New York, among others.
