Abstract
What I am trying to get is the Indians' side of the story or at least a better idea of who the Indians were--the name of the chief--etc. The Annual Reports to the Secretary of Indian Affairs, a regular part of which is a report on Indians killed, either by whites or other Indians, mention no Indians killed for 189 either from Oregon or Washington reservations. This may be the result merely of carelessness but may on the other hand help to confirm my theory that these Indians were not from any reservation."
