Abstract

Informative letter sent to the Department of Justice, which might be relative to several of the cases, following Relander's vacation trip. The Celilo tribe and Hood River tribe feel they are being treated as the Wanapums are, and are in similar situations. He gathered information on the Dalles and Celilo left by Col. Lang, which is much sought after. It is privately owned by Martha Ferguson McKeown, a friend of Relander's. At a festival in Neah Bay, he was proud, as a sculptor, that he could pick out and identify features from Indians across the area and Canada. He saw no other researcher in attendance. These contacts enable him to scan microfilm more knowledgeably.
