Abstract
Interior view of Burnett's Grocery, located on extention of South 1st Street. Grocery store located on the extension of South First St., about 1921; Left to right standing behind the meat counter, Morris Proudfoot, Vern Proudfoot, Unidentifiable, Harry Harrington; standing in front of meat counter; left to tight; George Burnett, Minnie McIntosh, Jean Sanford, Dellah Burnett (others unidentifiable). This was one of the large grocery stores of that time, which became a chain store, with other stores located in Yakima at Johnson?Коs corner, and a smaller store on 1st St. also. This store existed from about 1918 until the Great Depression in the 30?Коs when it closed. (submitted by son, Delbert H. Burnett) Yakima.
