"I was enthused, although not surprised, to find in this roll a statement of an agent that bears out the contention of Puck Hyah Toot [Johnny Buck] that Kamiakin and the other Yakima chiefs, at the Treaty Council of 1855 did not speak for all the Indians for which they ceded land. I shall call your special attention to that typescript."
