Abstract

"Indian Horse Race was painted at Priest Rapids by E. B. Quigley. He has gained prominence as a ranking painter of western scenes and makes sketching trips to the Indian country for atmosphere and authenticity. The Wanapum Indians described old-time races for the painter who found the rock pile turning marker still along the river."
