Abstract
"Yakima Valley Museum and Pioneer Historical Association Project completed with formal dedication and opening, June, 1957. The $140,000 museum building, fitted with display cases and facilities bringing the cost to approximately $152,000, was the result of a prolonged effort by individuals believing that history or the past should be there for the present and the preserved for the future. The museum is located in Franklin Park in the city of Yakima, county seat of Yakima County, Washington, 1956 population 42,000, trading area of 170,000 persons in Central Washington."
