Abstract
"Creation of the Reservation brought together fourteen tribes and bands, in some instances of different linguistic stock or dialects, compelling them to follow economic pursuits that were alien to their tradition and to adapt themselves to unfamiliar value systems. Three years before the agency was born at Fort Simcoe, the slow process of gathering the scattered, leaderless people was commenced."
