Abstract
"The historical frontier of the English colonies in North America, and, in the particular instance of this paper, Pennsylvania, was considered by the colonists to be 'the edge of civilization,' advancing into a virgin wilderness, rather than an area in which two cultures met. However, the element of the frontier which I propose to discuss is the relationship, as understood by the participants, between the white men and the Indians in Pennsylvania."
