Abstract

"It is hereby ordered that all that portion of country in Washington Territory withdrawn from sale and settlement, and set apart for the permanent use and occupation of Chief Moses and his people and such other friendly Indians as might elect to settle thereon with his consent and that of the Secretary of the Interior, by the Executive orders dated April 19, 1879 and March 6, 1880 respectively, and not restored to the public domain by the Executive order dated February 23, 1883, be, and the same is hereby restricted to the public domain subject to the limitations as to disposition imposed by act of Congress approved July 4, 1884 (23 Stats pp. 79-80) ratifying and confirming the agreement entered into July 7, 1883 between the Secretary of the Interior and the Commissioner of Indian Affairs and Chief Moses and other Indians of the Columbia and Colville Reservations in Washington Territory."
