Abstract

"1898 The cinematrographe entertainment proved interesting in the opera house. Many of these 'living pictures' elicited much merriment and applause. The entertainment on Saturday evening was marred by an accident to some of the electrical appliances and had to be postponed to Monday (April 14, 1898) a few years after..four additional water hydrants have been located on the four corners surrounding the corner of First St and Yakima Avenue. 'There is no good reason why the strreets shouldn't be given a good soaking occasionally...' 1891--The barbers of Yakima will close their shops hereafter on Sunday."
