"There is much prejudice and ill will felt towards him (Kamiakan) by many misinformed and evil disposed persons...the undersigned would represent to you the danger of permitting Kamiakin to come and remain more than a few hours in any of the settlements lest injury might befall him and that he may be removed to Fort Simcoe, the future seat of my agency...."
