"'...Major Garnett goes home 12th of this month. His wife died a few days before our return to Simcoe and his son a few hours after his mother. Both were well when we left' (on Indian expedition to the north). 'October 27, 1858, Major Garnett has started for the states with the remains of his wife...' [Records of the Church of All Souls, now at Unitarian Church, 80th Street and Lexington Avenue, New York show that Marianna E. Garnett and Arthur Garnett were buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Fifth Avenue and 25th Street, Brooklyn, New York, December 1, 1858.]"
