"Hill built the road and ferry. Spanish Hollow. Called it Maryhill Ferry. The boat was the Governor West. First one was built by a man named Robling at Portland. First was a stern wheeler. Second was built by a man from Vantage. It was a side wheeler, had two 100 horse power Scripps engines, friction drive."
