Abstract
"I wrote to you in my last letter that I was keeping store in San Jose. I have been doing tolerable well and my business is increasing. We have all our crop gathered in. We have not sold out our potatoes as the price is very low at present and it is generally thought that they will be up before spring. A great many have been compelled to sell off to raise money, which has caused a great decline in prices."
